Designed to enhance the overall usability of L4150 terminals, the Optimum L4150 Secure Keypad provides users with an easy-to-install physical keypad to assist the visually impaired during the transaction payment process. The Optimum L4150 Secure Keypad can be used for secure PIN entry, or any numeric data entry, augmenting the virtual keypad capabilities of the L4150 terminal.
When purchased separately, this optional Secure Keypad can be integrated with a new Optimum L4150 PCI PED 2.x terminal. A simple field installation process allows the end-user to quickly connect the Secure Keypad to any Optimum L4150 terminal. There is no need to have financial keys loaded on the Secure Keypad. Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) entered on the Secure Keypad are encrypted using the financial keys on the Optimum L4150 terminal.
For Secure Keypad attachment to older terminals, an initial pairing key needs to be loaded to the L4150. No secure room or additional shipping costs or delay are required. Hypercom' HyperSafe® Remote Key System can be employed to load this key in the store or at a deployment center. This key will be pre-loaded on all Optimum L4150 PCI PED 2.x terminals. For data entry on the Secure Keypad, a unique key is generated for each transaction and is used to secure all data transferred between the Secure Keypad and the L4150 terminal.
The Optimum L4150 Secure Keypad is fully PCI PED compliant. When connected to an Optimum L4150 PCI PED 2.x terminal the combined unit is PCI PED 2.x approved. When connected to an older L4150 the combined unit is PCI PED 1.3 approved.
